I’m not talking email spam because I’ve come to accept that it’s a force of nature and there’s no way to stop it. You can only set filters in place and redirect it into your spam box then delete it when you realize how full it is. (No joke, I usually have 500+ emails in my spambox before I delete every message forever.) I’m talking about Twitter spam (fake/bot accounts), Facebook spam (“I just won a free iPad, click here now!”), text spam (“You have a chance at winning $XXXXXX, text this keyword to this number to be entered!”), and Tumblr spam.
Those four forms of spam make you think that someone actually wants to talk to you but in reality it’s just a link to some scam website (or to some porn website). It irritates me to no end. Majority of the likes on my posts have not come from my followers, but from SPAM. Spam accounts “liking” my posts so I’ll click on the username and be redirected to some shit scam website.
Tonight, though, my irritation stems from my ask box, where this cute little gem was left:
Fuck you for making me think someone contacted me.
