Reverse, then forward.
Try as I might, sometimes I feel down on myself, like I have bad luck, or whatever. I really, really, really, really, really, reallyreallyreally don’t want to feel bad, so here are my highlights of the past week: starting with Monday, ending with Thursday since that’s technically when my school & work week ended…so technically even though it’s Friday, I’ve already...
This scene in Chasing Amy was the best, in my...
Alyssa: I’ve given that a lot of thought, you know? I mean, now that I’m being ostracized by my friends, I’ve had a lot of time to think about all of this. And what I’ve come up with is really simple: I came to this on my terms. I didn’t just heed what I was taught, you know? Men and women should be together, it’s the natural way - that kind of thing. I’m...
Done. & Done.
I was a doormat for people for far too long. I was pushed aside, rendered invisible, disrespected…and I’m done. I’ve had enough.
Honestly, I tried. I tried SO hard to be a good friend. I gave [free] rides when people needed to go places, I spent time with people when I could have been something for myself, I took time off WORK for crying out loud! And I never got a thank you, or...
Breaking the Ice
I’m still sick. I’m getting better, though. Yesterday was the worst of it, I think. I couldn’t do much of anything…I was passed out sleeping for most of the day…I didn’t go to class or work and I DID get to reschedule my dentist appointment. The tire on my car is fixed, thank goodness.
But, I’m still coughing… My nose is still stuffy… My body...

Appalled.
So, I have that Truth Box application installed on my MySpace. Just for fun, you know? Just for kicks. I get some really random & funny things sometimes. But, on a few occasions, I’ve gotten some rude comments. One time, it was “you are ridiculous, every part of you. sometimes I wish I didn’t know you.” Well, okay, that’s cool if you don’t like me, I...

High School Memories --Bike Path Tales
In my freshman year of high school, I lived with my mom and went to the high school that was nearby. Everyday I’d walk home, and since my mom would be working, I’d be home alone until about 4:30 or so. There was a bike path that wove around the neighborhood surrounding where I lived and, even though it was out of my way, I’d walk down the bike path. Sometimes with friends,...
The weekend draws to a close...
I accomplished nothing this weekend.
Wait, I take that back: I accomplished busting my tire, finishing 90% of my homework, catching a cold, and staying out until 6 AM this morning playing Monopoly with my friends.
I am beat. I am tired. I am feeling sorry for myself. I’m whiny, cranky, moody, bitchy, and not at all well at this moment. I hate feeling like this.
Tomorrow morning I have to...

Show Me Some Love!
Alright, folks. I haven’t done a Love List in a while and today I really need one. I’m feeling a little low, and kinda stupid because of this car thing that recently happened… so, here we go!

Mom: The kids [note--kids = kittens] were up on the counter and they were battin' around an avocado. One of them has a bite mark in it.
Me: Maybe they wanted to make guacamole!
[cue noises in kitchen]
Me: See! They're trying to make guacamole!
[then later...]
Mom: So, Scamper is mad at me.
Me: Why?
Mom: Well, first I put drops in his ears...and then I took his avocado away.
Me: You should have let him make guacamole.
[my mother and I have ridiculous conversations. and we're entirely serious during them, too.]
Everything Right With Today...
I was going to post about everything that went wrong today (sore throat, work sucked, etc…) but instead, I’m going to make this positive and write about everything that went right today.
I got my taxes filed. Sort of. I have to get the routing number to my bank and e-file my federal taxes. And I need to print out my state taxes and mail them in with a money order, because apparently...

Words to live by? I think so.
I will stop sucking in my stomach. I will stop gagging at my body in the full length mirror. I will stop seeing fat that really isn’t there. I will stop cursing my “chubby” stomach and “fat” thighs. I will stop trying to be like the girls I see in Cosmo or Bazaar or Vogue magazines.

A Phoenix man and his son show why @THE_REAL_SHAQ is awesome.
The story made me laugh.
(Oh, and it wasn’t his son, it was a friend, btw. just sayin’…)
Random Secret: I like getting e-mails from Twitter saying I have a new follower. Not because of the fact I’m being followed from someone new, but because those are the only e-mails I ever get. [Except forwarded messages from my mom.]

The Truth About Drinking, Driving, and Luck.
It’s now 8AM PST. I fell asleep somewhere in the 3 AM hour, and was up at around 6 or so… This is crazy. Absolutely. Especially after the night I had…
Okay, picture this: You’re with a small group of friends (six, including yourself) and you’re sittin’ around having a good time. Drinking, playing beer pong (3D and Battleship Pong!), and playing Up River, Down...
EXCITING NEWS!
First… I found out that Bucky Covington, American Idol finalist from season 5, is going to be performing at the fair this year. I’m SUPER stoked. He was my favorite idol from that season. I had stopped watching American Idol after season 4, and only watched the semi-finals/finals on season 5. Bucky grew on me. He’s got an AMAZING talent and I absolutely love his voice. I’m...

This came out of The Modesto Bee [via instructables.com] on February 11, 2009. It’s really good and I think everyone should try it!

4 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp cocoa
2 tbsp vegetable oil
2 tbsp water
1/4 tsp vanilla
dash of salt
Directions:
Mix dry ingredients together in a large coffee mug.

Five Really Cool Things That Happened Today:
My dad told me that next month he’s going to pay half my car payment ($140ish) and that I should take the money I was going to use for the payment and buy myself something. I haven’t decided what to buy myself, but I still have time to look around and see. I’m thinking a new DS game or two, maybe some clothes…whatever.
I took...
that's kinda catchy, right?
After about a month and a half of setting up this site, I’ve decided on a title… before, in case you didn’t know, I had just titled this site “Untitled [for now]” as a placeholder until something came to mind.
Long story short: the new title is “simple enough”
it works, right? and I am… simple, that is. things aren’t overly complicated here....
A Response to a Search for Love

I am in search of love. Not the type of love where I casually slip those three honest words to my closest friends. But, the type of love where I can wake up in the morning and truly cannot help but smile just knowing that you’re there beside me. I want my heart to pound ever-so-softly, only to where I am the only one that could feel and hear my chest...
Running on E
After this past weekend, I’m damn exhausted. I’m hungry, too. Last night was probably the most exhausting day of the weekend…
I treated Don out to sushi and a movie. We saw The International; kinda hard to follow, but it was very well done & put together. We definitely enjoyed ourselves.
We partied last night, too. And watched our friend Kim make a beer pong shot from...
Valentine's Day [pt. 4]
It’s not over yet!
Yesterday was amazing. Don took me out for a really great dinner, and back to his place where he had champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, and [of course] a playlist of “our” songs. :)
We ended the night with friends & beer pong, which sounds kinda crazy, but it was a really fun way to end an already great night. Oh, and my epic shot of the last game...
Valentine's Day [pt. 3]
Happy Valentine’s Day!
I hope everyone has an enjoyable & fantastic day.
Don is picking me up in about 2ish hours for our V-Day festivities which include music (his sister is performing tonight), dinner, and whatever else he has planned that I don’t know about.
This weekend is full of love. We don’t need a special day to show each other…But, he loves putting a...
Valentine's Day [pt. 2]
My thoughts were correct…I wasn’t wrong…
My boyfriend is making the 700 mile trip home just to be with me for Valentine’s Day. Honestly, there’s no greater gift.
He’s flying in and will be here by 8ish, hopefully. I can’t wait!
You know, I was going to spend my weekend sulking because he wasn’t here, but I think spending my time with him is a much...
Valentine's Day [pt. 1]
From expert detective work I’m expecting something pretty awesome. :) I’m not going to give up what I think it is yet, in case I’m wrong. (Though, in this case, I’m not.)
ANYWAY… I received my first Valentine card from my good friend Laura from Finland.
She’s such a doll. :)
[I love you, Laura!]
Mmm, life.
Yesterday was one of the funnest days I have had in quite a while.
Work was a bit crazy as usual, and I wanted to punch a few people [one very in particular] for not getting their facts straight and talking shit about things they obviously have not grasped the concept of. Luckily, I was off at 8PM and didn’t have to deal with that for very long.
Sometime after work, I ended up at a...
I can see myself doing the running man...
…as I prepare drinks from 1PM - 5PM today. Short shift today, but this weeks hours total up to 20. I’m super stoked!
Time to go get ready for work…

My Top 15 Hottest Movie Couples
[4 - 15 are in no particular order, 1 - 3 are. And by “couples,” i don’t necessarily mean the romantic type.]
Vin Diesel & Paul Walker [Fast & Furious 1, 2, and the upcoming 4th]
Kate Winslet & Leo DiCaprio [Titanic and Revolutionary Road.]
Tom Hanks & Meg Ryan [Sleepless in Seattle & You’ve Got Mail…though I like Meg’s hair better...

The Cardinals are losing and there’s another Fast and Furious movie coming out. Did Kurt Warner piss off God?
Yes, in fact, he did.
Another F&F movie?! REALLY?! Is it really necessary to have a 4th one? Haven’t we suffered enough?
Two good things about a 4th installment: Vin Diesel and Paul Walker.
There is no hotter duo. [Kate Winslet & Leo DiCaprio are in close 2nd,...
Post Superbowl Excitement
I am:
Mad the Cardinals lost. It was a damn good game, though. Especially the last 5 minutes.
Happy to be home early, as I’ve got to work tomorrow.
Exhausted after watching the game, running around playing Bartender’s Assistant, and having 4 jello shots, 3 Kamikazes [shots with vodka, triple sec, and lime juice], and a lemon drop.
Excited because I had jello shots for the first...
Superbowl Sunday...
I don’t really care who’s playing, or who wins, because for once this season: I have no money out on this game. [Secretly, though, I’m going for Cardinals.] What I like most about the Superbowl is my dad’s party… It’s just simply great year after year… I go for the social aspect [which doesn’t freak me out, because I’ve known majority of my...

Ridiculous.
Hahahahahahahaa.
Socially Awkward
Sometimes, I think I’m the most irrational person alive because I fear the sillyest things. It’s weird, I’m weird and at times and very socially awkward. I think my brain is wired incorrectly. I often say and do things that I later think, “Why the HELL did you just say that?!” This makes for interesting conversations and, sometimes, strange looks…
I fear being...
